Announcing the 2011 Yum-o! Scholarship Winners!

The FUND component of Yum-o!’s mission helps kids reach their food-related career goals by funding culinary school scholarships. In partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF), Yum-o! is pleased to announce this year’s ten scholarship winners! Haley Berthold (Winthrop University), Sarah Cochran (Cornell University), Erika Decker (Sullivan County Community College), Lexis Hoover (Hocking Technical College), Karissa Hudick (University of Mississippi), Allison Hunt (Culinary Institute of America), Kathryn Johnson (Culinary Institute of America), Melissa McGuire (Nicholls State University), Rebekah Smith (Purdue University) and Katelyn Vaughn (Missouri State University) will each receive a $2,500 scholarship to pursue their culinary education.

"Thank you for investing in the dreams of a young, aspiring chef and restaurant owner," said Rebekah Smith. Future plans for these talented students include working in the hospitality industry; becoming a personal chef, registered dietician, food stylist, food writer and culinary instructor; and opening their own restaurants.
