Last Chance: Your Young Chef Could Win a Trip to the White House!

March 30, 2016  •

There are only a few days left to submit your child’s recipe for the 2016 Healthy Lunchtime Challenge. You and your young chef could win a trip to Washington, D.C. – and the deadline is April 4!

Rachael and Yum-o! have joined First Lady Michelle Obama, as well as the Newman’s Own Foundation, PBS flagship station WGBH Boston, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to host this year’s fifth annual Healthy Lunchtime Challenge and Kids’ “State Dinner” to promote cooking and healthy eating.

Help your talented young chef (ages 8-12) submit an original lunch recipe that is healthy, affordable, and tasty for a chance to win a trip to the 2016 Kids’ “State Dinner” held at the White House and even dine with the First Lady and Rachael. One winner will be selected from each state and territory, and their parent or guardian will attend as well. Don’t wait to submit your child’s recipe! The entry form closes Monday, April 4 at 11:59pm EDT.

Tip: Entrants are encouraged to reference ChooseMyPlate.gov to ensure recipes meet the USDA’s recommended nutrition guidelines. And, using local ingredients is a plus, too!
