My Munch Bug

July 15, 2013  •

Developed by Melanie Potock, a feeding specialist, certified speech language pathologist and national speaker on the topic of picky eating and feeding difficulties, My Munch Bug is the latest resource for new (and not-so-new) parents to learn up-to-date information on feeding techniques that create happy mealtimes for everyone! My Munch Bug keeps it fun!

“My job is to teach children (munch bugs!) who are hesitant eaters the fun of trying new foods,” explains Melanie. It all started when, as a certified speech language pathologist, Melanie was focusing her clinical work on oral motor aspects of eating in children with special needs while parenting a “picky eater” herself. Today, Melanie coaches parents on how to encourage all of their kids to become adventurous eaters, has authored Happy Mealtimes with Happy Kids: How to Teach Your Child About the Joy of Food! and even produced a Grammy-submitted children’s music CD (all about food, of course!) You’ll also find her as a guest speaker discussing strategies for kids with food allergies, picky eating habits and tips on how to create more joyful family mealtimes. Melanie says, “I wear a necklace every day that reads “Eat, Play, Love” in celebration of my daily work – the best job I could ever hope for! I try to emulate Rachael’s philosophy of having fun in the kitchen. And I do a little dancing in there, too!”
