Julian is only two years old, but he has been helping his Papa bake for the holidays since he could sit up for himself. He puts the ingredients in the mixing bowl and helps stir or beat the batter. One of his favorite thing to do is to crack the eggs. And of course, to lick the beaters!

Pack a large pan (9 x 13 inches) with freshly fallen snow. Be sure to pack it as tight as you can. Next, cook the maple syrup in a sauce pan until it begins to firm up like candle wax. Slowly pour the syrup over the snow and dig in with a fork to enjoy.
Cooking and baking for the holidays with my mother and being able to taste the special treats. We came from a farm family and this was very special to us as kids. Our idea of a snack was popcorn on Sunday nights!
