Yum-o!’s “If You Can…We Can!” Food Drive Makes More than 160,000 Meals

January 15, 2010  •

For the second year running, Yum-o! enlisted the help of the Rachael Ray studio audience to support one of our core work areas: feeding hungry kids and raising awareness about the issue of hunger in America.

In less than two months, the Rachael Ray show audience brought in over 3500 pounds of food to help feed hungry New Yorkers. The participation from audience members was outstanding, with participants going above and beyond by bringing in checks for City Harvest, as well as car loads of food. On top of that, Yum-o! donated $10,000 to Feeding America, which helped buy an additional 200,000 pounds of food for distribution to food pantries across the country, enough to make 160,000 meals this holiday season.

The donations were collected by City Harvest, a food rescue organization based in New York City. You can learn more about
Yum-o!’s "FEED" work area on our website, and use Feeding America’s Food Bank Locator to locate food banks that you can continue to support in your community.
