In September, Yum-o!’s partner, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, celebrated their second annual Go Healthy Month! With its efforts focused on preventing childhood obesity and creating healthier lifestyles for all children, the Alliance has designated the month of September as Go Healthy Month as an opportunity to engage, educate and activate kids across the nation to motivate themselves, their peers, family members, school communities and others to increase their healthy eating and physical activity.

A great way to get excited about cooking is to visit your local farmers’ market, where you’ll find in-season produce and the freshest meats, breads and cheeses. You can even talk to the farmers about all the different varieties of the items they are selling and ask how they are grown or made. And it’s always fun to pick out a few different kinds of fruits and veggies for a "taste test" when you get back home!
