You can throw pretty much any green, leafy veggie into this soup!

Braised Brussels Sprouts

Serves 4 (or 6-8 as a side)

These sprouts are a fantastic Thanksgiving or holiday side dish and will make a Brussels sprouts fan out of anyone! You can also substitute vegetable broth for chicken broth and combine them with Creamy Polenta with Butternut Squash and Marsala Mushroom Ragout for a delicious vegetarian meal!

Pork Roast

Serves 4-6

12-year-old Derron made this recipe for his mom for Sunday dinner one time when she was feeling sick. After putting together a delicious pork roast sandwich for her, he even cleaned up the kitchen! Now that’s a way to get mom feeling better!

Awesome Autumn Stew

Serves 6

This pork stew comes out equally tasty made with boneless, skinless chicken thighs. Its savory-sweetness will appeal to everyone at the table.

Turkey Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie and Cran-applesauce Sundaes

Serves 4-6

Thanksgiving for four, for any day of the year! At Yum-o!, we believe in all things in moderation. Special treats like the Cran-applesauce Sundaes included in this recipe are to be eaten once in a while and only after you’ve been a good eater the rest of the time. That’s why it’s called a treat!

Pork Chops with Golden Apple Raisin Sauce and Whole Wheat Mac ‘n Cheddar with Broccoli

Serves 4, with leftover mac for snack attacks!

This menu is based on the back-in-the-day idea of a good, square meal: meat, vegetable and starch. The flavors have all gotten an update, though!

Penne-Wise Pumpkin Pasta

Serves 6

This recipe is “wise” because it uses whole wheat pasta – which is high in protein and fiber compared to semolina pasta and has a tasty, nutty flavor – plus it’s "penny-wise" (Get it? “Penne” sounds like penny!), as it is both inexpensive to make and absolutely delicious!

Ground Turkey Shepherd’s Pie

Serves 4

Rachael says, “I love mashed potatoes because they taste great and because they are so much fun to smash up! In this recipe, you can smash away because we’re making Shepherd’s Pie, which is ground meat mixed up with veggies and topped with smashed potatoes. The potatoes are like a crust, so they call it a pie even though it’s not. If you’re not taller than the stove, itself, let a Grown-up Helper (GH) handle the stovetop work – make sure you’re in there for the smashing though; that’s the key to the whole thing! Yum-o!”

Dracula’s Transylvanian Ghoul-ash

Serves 4

This is garlicky enough to keep the most persistent of vampires off your doorstep. One bite and you’ll want to nuzzle up to this Ghoul-ash any night of the week!

Chicken with Apple Gravy, Cheesy Rice Pilaf with Peas and Green Beans with Green Onions

Serves 4

A tasty apple gravy perks up chicken breasts. Complete the meal with cheesy rice pilaf and peas and green beans.

No-Thyme Quick Chicken with Smash Broc-o-tatoes and Gouda Gravy

Serves 4

This menu is based on the back-in-the-day idea of a good, square meal: meat, vegetable and starch. The flavors have all gotten an update, though!

Rollover Turkey Stuffin’ Meatloaf with Scallion Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

Serves 4

Rollover Suppers are meals from which the leftovers can be turned into a second or even a third night’s meal with entirely different flavor. In this Rollover Supper series, three popular comfort foods – meatloaf, lasagna and enchiladas – come together to give you two tasty, well-rounded suppers: Turkey Stuffin’ Meatloaf with Scallion Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans and Enchil-lasagna. Now that’s a comforting thought!

Apple Cider Gravy

Serves enough to top four chicken breasts

This is a topper for chicken that you can make with ingredients you have on hand in less than five minutes. Serve up your veggies of choice and some couscous (a five minute super-side dish!) and you have a jazzy new twist on the same ol’ supper! This recipe will top four chicken breasts. Slice breasts on an angle and fan out on plates before topping. Be sure to try out Rachael’s other two skillet sauces, Skillet Barbecue Gravy and Orange-Maple Reduction.
